Cleaning Object & Dawn - Post Burn Edition

To all of our clients returning from the dusty magic of Burning Man, we have a special "How to Clean and Care" edition just for you.

Our designs are ready for any setting. Parties, weddings, the bedroom and the Playa. Below are tips and to ensure you get the challenging playa dust and return your items to pristine condition.

This video covers it all or you can read on for full details and photos.

No Water.
Never submerge in water. Our pieces are moisture resistant. But sinks, tubs, & showers don't mix!

Dirt and Dust. Use a light brush to remove dirt and dust. A baby brush or shaving brush work well. Choose a very soft brush with fine bristles to avoid damage.
Microfiber towels are one of the best tools for removing playa dust from any surface. After the baby brush, gently wipe across your piece with a microfiber towel.

Mirrors,
For larger debris, grains of sand etc, use a compressed air cleaner. These are commonly used for electronics and safe to use on your mirror accents and small crevices where beads are tightly wound.use a soft cotton swab. Small baby-sized cotton swabs work best. Gently swab the inside of your mirror accents. Avoid pressing very hard as this may crack the mirror or lodge threads of cotton from the swab in the crevices of the mirror clusters.

Velvet Lining. Use a vacuum for stubborn playa dust on velvet and in tightly beaded areas. For sweat and dirt, try a soft damp cloth with a very small amount of mild soap. Damp, not soaking wet. Dab this against the velvet and leave to air dry or in front of a fan.

Tassels.  Holding the beaded cap, lightly shake tassels to relax them. If bent or wrinkled, a few seconds of light steam can relax them into new condition. You may also put a few drops of water on your fingers and lightly comb through the tassel threads. If any threads are frayed or damaged, we suggest removing them. Either clip them close to the beaded cap, or slowly pull the thread until it comes out completely.

Storage. Always store your items in a dry environment. Over time, very humid locations might lead to changes in color.

Follow these steps and your items should look good as new!  If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us
